McMaster
makes
presentations at local schools because he is concerned that the kids
worry too much about problems that they didn’t create.
In
his brief comments to the conference, he said that the kids were very
knowledgeable about the issues of climate change and global warming,
but that it was the adults that are having difficulty facing up to
their responsibilities.
Mentioning his use of the McMaster Institute’s
"Sustain-o-Meter"
and
"Secret Symbol of
Sustainability", he asked the delegates to consider
adopting
"DragonThink",
an approach to balanced thinking based on considering Social,
Environmental and Economic impacts in everyday decisions.
Gail Kendall,
Director, Group Environmental Affairs, CLP Holdings
Limited told Mr. McMaster that she had introduced her young son to
DragonThink and the Secret Symbol of Sustainabilty and he excitedly
incorporated it into school projects he was working on.
Kurt Yeager,
Chair of the World Energy Council's Study on Energy and
Climate Change was impressed with the power and simplicity

of the
DragonThink effort and commended Mr. McMaster for his efforts, saying
he would bring it back to the US and discuss the idea with his
colleagues.
Professor Ru-Song Wang,
Research Professor at the Research Center
for Eco-Environmental Sciences of The Chinese Academy of
Sciences
and Vice-Director, Scientific Committee on Problems of the
Environment, International Council for Science wanted to learn more
about the DragonThink campaign and its possible introduction into
Mainland China.

ICCC International Advisory
Committee member
Nick
Dean, Vice-Consul
(Political & Economic) of British Consulate-General in Hong
Kong,
was an 'early adopter' of DragonThink and the Secret Symbol of
Sustainability during the ICCC conference, believing there was a place
for a unifying educational effort beyond political and special interest
groups.
Stephen IP, Secretary of the Economic Development and Labour Bureau,
Hong Kong SAR Government had been exposed to the Secret Symbol on
February 1st 2007 when
Philip McMaster introduced the 3 finger symbol and the "Sustainable New
Years Pig" during the Career Expo.

DragonThink
Presentation Finds Enthusiastic Kids at Kowloon Junior School
Goal to make Hong Kong "China's Most Sustainable City" to be realized
by 2017*

One Hundred and Fifty excited
and attentive 9 and 10 year olds of
Kowloon Junior School attended a
morning presentation of
"DragonThink
-
Your Future's So
Bright, You've Got to Wear Shades!" in late May.
Coordinated by KJS teacher Pamela Riordan, the presentation was made by
the McMaster Institute's chairman, "Professor P!" in
the main hall of the ESF school.
Wearing the same hat he has worn in the Amazon jungles of Brazil, and
wilderness of his home country, Canada, Professor P! amused and amazed
the students, reflecting and celebrating their extensive
knowledge of the issues of Climate Change and Global Warming.
Professor P! first made it clear that the
world was not coming to
an end, and that although the climate and everything else
on Earth are constantly changing, there are postitive things that we
can do and think about to stop speeding up the natural process.
"DragonThink"
was introduced as a special "secret" thinking technique that
students could learn, share and test on others.
Core to the presentation was the concept of the
"Hand of Gaia"
- that healing the Earth begins with healing ourselves,
thinking in responsible ways, and seeking balance and fun in our
thinking and actions. The goal discussed with the students was how we
can make Hong Kong China's Most Sustainable City by the time they were
grown up.
To guage the support for various ideas, understandings and
passions, the
"Sustain-o-Meter", a magical device designed to inspire

and encourage sustainable thinking (DragonThink) was used to
great effect.
Professor P! then introduced the 3 Dragons of DragonThink ( Meter-long
stuffed marionnettes), representing Society, Environment and
Economy. Lucky students from the audience were chosen to be
Dragon guardians and perform special duties to bring them alive and
learn from them.

Toward the end of the
presentation, students were interviewed
ten years in the future...
asked what they were experiencing "today" in 2017. Professor
P! got out his recorder, put on his "future hat" (covered in aluminum
foil) and interviewed the student who also wore
aluminum-foil-hats-of-the-future.
When the presentation was fininshed, everyone who learned the Secret
Symbol of Sustainability recieved a certificate. The 3 Dragons were
also donated to the school by the McMaster Institute on the condition
that the students, school teachers and administrators care
for them and display them in a prominent place. The hope of the
Institute is that educators and students are

encouraged
to create their own small theatrical plays and short skits
using the marionnette Dragons, and that these interpretations of
DragonThink are shared with other students, other schools and
the local community.

AIESEC
2006 & 2007:
Students of Leadership from Around the World Crowd Dragonpreneur
Presentation
"How
Hong Kong can Save Face, Save the World and Still Make Lots of Money"
University students from around the world attending two
recent AIESEC
conferences had the unique opportunity to learn what's new in Hong
Kong. Workshops presented by Professor P! (Philip McMaster) the founder
of the
Dragonpreneur
5 belt Entrepreneurship Program,
DragonThink
and the
SEE Three Fingers
campaign were filled to capacity.
At the
2006 AIESEC
Conference,
the concept and program behind Dragonpreneur were revealed,
illustrating the 5 belts of 1. Communications (White Belt) 2.
Relationships (Green Belt), 3. Money (Red Belt), 4. Innovation and
Creativity (Yellow Belt), and 5. Leadership - the Black Belt of
Dragonpreneurs.

The
Dragonpreneur program
is
designed to develop the skills and attitudes that

are required for
sustainable success in the business world as an entrepreneur. The
program is also ideal for explaining and understanding the depth of
Corporate
Social
Responsibility (CSR)
for leaders, managers and employees of medium and large size
organizations.
The 2007 AIESEC workshops built on the ethics of
Dragonpreneurship and introduced a goal and a simple tool to
achieve that goal. The goal is to make
Hong Kong China's Most
Sustainable City - the tool is the
SEE Three
Fingers - "DragonThink" campaign. The name of the workshop
is "How Hong Kong Can Save Face, Save the World, and Still Make Lots of
Money!"
